South Pasadena has received the Excellence and Merit Award, specifically for the Neighborhood Planning Award from the American Planning Association for the City’s Downtown Specific Plan. The City’s Downtown Specific Plan was recognized for its thoughtful planning in maintaining the City’s small town feel while also promoting more
housing and businesses within the Downtown area.
South Pasadena has been rated one of the best 24 places to live and work in the west!
Public Safety
While South Pasadena is widely recognized by residents and community review platforms as an exceptionally safe, family-friendly suburb, there is still more work to be done. That's why I'm committed to working with our police officers and firefighters to reach even higher public safety goals.
The 1st all electric police vehicle fleet in the nation!
Councilmember Cacciotti fought for years to transition South Pasadena’s police fleet to electric vehicles. The new vehicles are fast, reliable, quiet, and cleaner for the environment, and the new fleet is saving more than $60,000 in gas costs each year!
In addition to spearheading the transition to electric vehicles, Cacciotti negotiated grants and infrastructure savings that reduced to cost of the transition by over one million dollars.
Cacciotti has kept our Police and Fire Departments fully funded and fully staffed
Cacciotti led the council to fund protected bike lanes on Huntington Drive and Fremont Ave., also funding new solar powered flashing stop signs to help protect pedestrians and cyclists., and called for additional traffic studies to advocate for more flashing stop signs at busy intersections.

Preventing Homelessness
Cacciotti has provided leadership to prevent homelessness. He advocated for funding from the San Gabriel Valley Regional Housing Trust to provided affordable housing for our seniors.
Addressing Homelessness & Public Health
Cacciotti brought mobile health services to South Pasadena
Instead of relying solely on law enforcement, the program dispatches dedicated mobile crisis vans staffed with professional teams to de-escalate situations, conduct mental health assessments, and connect people to supportive services.
Councilmember Cacciotti has maintained and supported our local library, senior center, parks, and recreational programs. Cacciotti spearheaded the effor to create two new pocket parks Beatrice Solis (Berkshire) and Grevelia.
Resources Our Community Depends Upon
​Protecting Open Natural Spaces
Cacciotti led a six year battle to save open space and create South Pasadena Nature Park.
He obtained $250,000 in grants for restoration, planing, and design of the Nature Park, including trails, water retention basins, outdoor river rock seating for an outdoor classroom, and much more.

Cacciotti worked on a vision, plan, and design to build the bicycle/pedestrian path/trail along the beautiful arroyo seco channel for our residents and neighbors to enjoy.
He saved taxpayers more than half a million dollars on these projects by getting grants from state and regional agencies.
